SANTORINI
THE FIRST FIVE
The blue domes are beautiful.
The island beyond them is unforgettable.
Caldera sunsets, village lanes, volcanic beaches and long Greek dinners. Come for the view. Stay for the slower moments.
THE FIRST FIVE
Five things I want you to know before your first Santorini trip.
The blue domes are gorgeous, but Fira, Pyrgos and Akrotiri deserve just as much attention.
Try Sun Spirit in Oia or head toward Akrotiri Lighthouse for a completely different atmosphere.
Find a little taverna, order something local and give yourself plenty of time for dinner.
See the volcanic coastline from a catamaran. Santorini looks completely different from the sea.
I recommend arranging a private car or transfers. Don't underestimate the logistics of getting around.

FROM BRITTANY
I loved discovering that Santorini is so much more than the version you see all over Instagram.
The caldera is incredible, but so are the smaller villages, the long dinners and the quieter corners of the island.
This guide was inspired in part by a handwritten map of local recommendations shared with me at Santonero. Those little personal suggestions are exactly the kind of travel advice I love passing along.
See the blue domes. Take the pictures. But then keep exploring, because the rest of the island deserves your attention too.

FOUR REASONS TO KEEP WANDERING
◎ SEE OR SKIP?
THE HONEST VERSION
See it once, but expect crowds. A reserved sunset spot makes the experience easier.
See it. A beautiful contrast to the busiest caldera towns.
My preferred way to see the island without worrying about parking or navigating.
Only if you're experienced, properly licensed and comfortable with winding roads and wind.
Skip that itinerary. There is so much more to Santorini.
✦ KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
SMALL DETAILS. BETTER TRIP.
Arrange airport, port and longer journeys ahead of time.
Don't assume you can always hail one. Confirm prices and pickups.
My favorite option for exploring multiple villages. Email me for a recommendation →
Only rent if licensed, insured and confident. Always wear a helmet.
Restaurants, beach clubs and boat excursions can change schedules.
